About
EmberBox started as a group chat where a few of us kept arguing about which mobile RPG was actually worth the storage space. At some point the arguments got long enough that we figured we should just write them down. That's the whole origin story — no grand mission statement, just people who like playing on the train and talking about it afterwards.,Everything we cover, we actually play. Not a trailer, not a press kit — the real thing, usually for a week or more, until we hit the point where a game either opens up or starts repeating itself. We care a lot about how a story holds up after the tutorial and whether the progression respects your time.,We pick games across genres on purpose. Some weeks it's a slow turn-based RPG, other weeks a racing game that only makes sense in thirty-second bursts. The common thread is that something about it made us want to keep tapping. If a game bored us, we'll say so plainly.,No publisher pays us to be nice. We buy or download the games ourselves, and when we're wrong we update the piece. That's it — you can read us the same way you'd listen to a friend who plays too much.
